Dhanak is the annual cultural extravaganza of Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. Started as an intra-college fest during the initial years of IIST, Dhanak has come a long way in becoming one of the biggest cultural fests in Kerala. It is a huge platform for students from all parts of the country to showcase their talents in various areas of interest. Dhanak strives to provide a mesmerising journey of four days, by way of its unique theme every year. It has also been host to many popular figures like Former President Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, Academy Award winner Resul Pookutty, and popular playback singer K J Yesudas in the past, as well popular bands like Chaos, Demonic Resurrection and Cold Night for Alligators.
This time, on the 50th anniversary of India's glorious victory in the 1965 war, we dedicate Dhanak to those brave and selfless soldiers of our motherland who put their lives on the line to ensure the safety of their homeland.
